Religious Vision
Religious Vision was founded in 1991 by Stefan Roigk (Programming) and Christian Beckers (Lyrics/Vocals). 1992 I joined, actually not really as a member, but only for playing keyboards on two songs. Since we were able to deal with each other in a very nice way, I stayed, went on playing keyboards and supported Stefan in programming.
Three things to be prerecognized: Religious Vision is outdated, adolescent and trashy. Who did not like it then, will most likely never like it now. Nonetheless I still like something in it. I like our ideas of how sound and noises should be integrated, I sometimes like the touch of romantic kitsch, and I sometimes like the character of our singer's voice and intonation. I like all this especially in the early works, because there was not even the attempt to sound that overdone mature, so it could not fail. I even think I like many of these early Religious Vision-tracks more than many of our successor project Crematron.
Publications
[MC] Terrible Verses. 1991
The first publication, totally without me, I guess.
[MC] Songs of Faith. 1992
I liked that very much, then. I only played keyboards on a few tracks, but was a full member on some others. "Girl of Death" and "Nichts ist Alles" for example. Nice Goth-Pop-balladines in very poor sound quality, I must confess.
selected track:
. Girl of Death [mp3]
[MC] The Vampires Legend. 1993
Our very first concept album, on vampires. Maybe rather comic-style than to be taken serious, but this "Love Never Dies"-thing really touched our souls back then. Hm. Nasty romantics. I think I would still carry a torch for it if no one could see me.
selected track:
. Vampires Pt.2 [mp3]
[MC] Gods of the Eternal Silence. 1994
Most of these songs were realized when I took some time for myself without the band. So I cannot really say much about them. Though I somehow participated in some of the songs. What I still remember: "Wüste" was my smash hit then. A comment on that tape is published here: Entry Magazin [ext]. Unfortunately it is only written in german language.
selected tracks:
. Watch the Time [mp3] (sung by Stefan)
. Wüste [mp3] (sung by me. cough.)
[mp3-CDR] Fallen Angel. The Lost Tapes
On this CDR there is everything that formally was only published on the MCs. You can buy it via Religious Vision at mp3.com. A comment on this CDr that is very to the point is published at minor mailorder.
I stole the scans of the cassette-covers at minor mailorder. Thanx, very much. Do not miff it, please.
Who wants to listen to more songs of Religious Vision, should check out the offers at mp3.com, which our singer Christian keeps available there; or Religious Vision at last.fm.
